Williston Basin International Airport

The local terrain inspired the interior design of the first new-construction greenfield airport in the U.S. since 2011. The epoxy terrazzo floor patterns present an abstract portrayal of the rolling plains and wheat fields of the Drift Prairie of North Dakota’s Central Lowland. The 33,000-square-foot floor’s sweeping radius design provides subtle wayfinding and its palette of 11 soothing colors unifies all the interior finishes. With just four gates and three passenger boarding bridges, the airport is configured for future growth.
