University of Alaska Fairbanks Engineering Facility

This spectacularly executed map of Alaska in epoxy terrazzo portrays each island, fjord, river, and peninsula of its complex coastlines. From the metropolitan areas to the remote villages, from the far western islands to the southeast Alaskan Panhandle, all have been amazingly incorporated to scale in the 22×30 foot map. Working from a conceptual map, the installers redrew it for fabrication. This new engineering building is LEED Silver certified and designed to last the life of the building.
