Hoover Dam Visitor Center

Most of the flooring at this National Historic Site is original terrazzo, but some of the 1936 floor inlays are no longer accessible to visitors. During 2018 renovations to the 1995 Visitor Center, four of artist Allan Tupper True’s intricate Art Deco designs were recreated in the public areas. Inspired by Southwest Native American design and elements of hydroelectric power, the inlays were precision waterjet-cut and hand troweled into place. The epoxy terrazzo installation includes a poured-in-place spiral staircase with a waterfall edge to ensure ease of maintenance.
