Glass Knife

This stylish, concept-driven interior of a new café is inspired by the narrative of Depression glass knives. The star pattern and colors of the custom terrazzo floor reflect the detailing commonly found on the handles of these knives, and each star is embedded with chips of crushed glass knives that belonged to the cafe owner’s mother. Black plastic divider strips provide high contrast with the bright epoxy resin colors. The crisp, eye-catching design is complemented with brass, which is also incorporated into the black stars with brass shavings.
