Part of a LEED-certified renovation and remodel of a terminal that welcomes some 900,000 travelers a year, this epoxy terrazzo installation in 12 colors with 28 aggregates tells the history of flight. Each of 19 historic planes’ silhouettes, formed in hand-bent aluminum, is exhibited with a timeline marker and description in aluminum lettering. The 26,000-square-foot project was completed in 20 phases to allow for uninterrupted operations of the terminal. Each 600-square-foot segment of the project was prepared, poured, and finished one at a time with no visibility to other sections.
